Overlapped Documents Are Frequently Fed into the Scanner

Have the documents just been printed out from a copy machine or a laser printer?
Are you using the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher?
If the problem persists, check the items in Before You Contact the Scanner Service Provider first, then contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to the contact information in the Contact List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in the Contact for Inquiries section if provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and then make an inquiry.
Do the documents meet the paper requirements?

Use documents that meet the requirements.

Are you using the Carrier Sheet?
- Solution
Configure the scan settings in the scanner driver to use the Carrier Sheet.

If the setting to detect overlapped documents is enabled, do the documents fulfill the conditions to detect overlapped documents accurately?

Fulfill the conditions to detect overlapped documents accurately.

If necessary, specify the area to detect overlapped documents.

Did you scan a thick document such as a plastic card?
- Solution
Perform one of the following for a scan:
Use the intelligent multifeed detection function.
Disable the setting to detect overlapped documents by the ultrasonic sensor.
Scan with Manual Single Mode.
Did you fan the documents before loading them?
- Solution
Fan the documents.

Have the documents just been printed out from a copy machine or a laser printer?

Fan the documents a few times to remove static electricity.

Are the brake roller and pick roller installed correctly?
- Solution
Install the brake roller and pick roller correctly.

Are the brake roller and pick roller clean?
- Solution
Clean the brake roller and pick roller.

Are the brake roller and pick roller worn out?
- Solution

Check the counters for the brake roller and pick roller in the [Consumable counters] screen on the touch screen, and replace the brake roller and pick roller if necessary.
The procedure to display the [Consumable counters] screen is as follows:
→ [Cleaning & Maintenance] → [Consumable counters]

Are you using the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher?

In the [High Altitude Mode] screen on the touch screen, set [Enable] to on.
The [High Altitude Mode] screen can be displayed in the following procedure:
→ [Scanner Settings] → [Paper Source/Feeding] → [High Altitude Mode]
When using the Software Operation Panel, refer to Scanning at High Altitude [High Altitude Mode].
If the scanner is being used on level ground lower than 2,000 m with [High Altitude Mode] enabled, overlapped documents may not be detected.
