You can configure the setting when selecting [Wi-Fi] or [Wired LAN] for [How to connect].
- Wi-Fi
Configure the settings for Wi-Fi.
You can configure the setting when selecting [Wi-Fi] for [How to connect].
- Access Point
Select a setting method when connecting via Wi-Fi.
The factory default setting is [Select an Access Point].
Select an Access Point
Select a wireless access point from a list of access points to establish a connection.
Press the [Start] button to start specifying the Wi-Fi setting.
For details about the setting items after you select this, refer to Connecting to a Wireless Access Point by Selecting One from the List of Wireless Access Points.
Use WPS
Specify the setting by using WPS of the wireless access point.
Press the [Start] button to start specifying the Wi-Fi setting.
For details about the setting items after you select this, refer to Connecting to a Wireless Access Point by Pressing the WPS Button or Connecting to a Wireless Access Point by Entering the PIN for WPS.
Configure manually
Manually configure the information for the wireless access point.
Press the [Start] button to start specifying the Wi-Fi setting.

This is the factory default setting.

When [Configure manually] is selected, specify the following items:

When you set an IP address manually, specify a DNS server.
[Enable] is set to off as the factory default.
When [Enable] is set to on, specify the following items:
Primary DNS

Set this item to obtain an IP address automatically.
Enable this option when you want to specify a scanner name (host name) and search for a scanner in Scanner Selection Tool for fi Series.
[Enable] is set to off as the factory default.
When [Enable] is set to on and a scanner is connected to a network, a scanner name (host name) and an IP address will be automatically registered in a DNS server.
You can specify a scanner name (host name) to be registered in a DNS server for [Scanner name] in [Scanner Settings]. For details, refer to Scanner Name.
HINTIf you enter a blank space or "_" for [Scanner name], it is converted to "-" and registered in a DNS server.
Even if the IP address assigned by the DHCP server has been changed, the scanner name (host name) registered in the DNS server can still be used to search for the scanner.

- Wi-Fi Diagnosis
Check the Wi-Fi connection status for the scanner.

Configure the settings for wired LAN.
You can configure the setting when selecting [Wired LAN] for [How to connect].

Configure the settings for a server, which is to be connected to the scanner.

Specify whether or not authentication is necessary for a proxy server.

When [Authentication] is set to on, specify the following items:

- PaperStream NX Manager
Configure the settings for PaperStream NX Manager.
- PaperStream NX Manager
Specify whether to use PaperStream NX Manager.
When using PaperStream NX Manager, set the server type.

Select this when not using PaperStream NX Manager.
This is the factory default setting.
- Private Server
Select this to use PaperStream NX Manager with a private server.
When selecting [Private Server], specify the following items:
Host Name/IP address
Port Number
The factory default setting is "20447".
- EdgeXperience (Cloud)
Select this to use EdgeXperience Capture Service. Note that a contract is required to use EdgeXperience Capture Service. For information about the contract, contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to the contact information in the Contact List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in the Contact for Inquiries section if provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and then make an inquiry.
When selecting [EdgeXperience (Cloud)], specify the following items:

Check if the scanner is connected to PaperStream NX Manager.
- Auto Login/Logout
Specify an auto login method or set the auto logout time for PaperStream NX Manager.
- Auto Logout minutes
Specify a time (minutes) to automatically log out from PaperStream NX Manager if the scanner is left on for a certain period of time without being used.

This is the factory default setting.

Configure the settings for Scanner Central Admin Server to use PaperStream NX Manager.
Set this item to monitor the scanners or perform a single operation on them at the same time with Scanner Central Admin Server.

[Enable] is set to off as the factory default.
When [Enable] is set to on, specify the following items:

Check if the scanner is connected to Scanner Central Admin Server.
- Network Encryption
Specify whether to encrypt network communications.
Encryption Off (HTTP)
This is a transmission method prioritizing the scanning speed.
This is the factory default setting.
Encryption On (HTTPS)
This is a transmission method prioritizing the security. The scanning speed is slow with this setting.
- Check connection (Ping)
Check the communication status between the scanner and the connected computer.
- Host Name/IP address
Enter a host name or an IP address.
- [Run] button
A ping test is performed.
