Setting Items

The scanner settings can be changed in [Scanner Settings] on the screen that appears when you press in the lower right of the touch screen.

This section shows a list of setting items that you can configure.

ATTENTION

To change the scanner settings, the administrator password is required.

You can check the default administrator password by checking whether there is a label or not.

For details about the label, refer to Checking the Product Label.

Change the administrator password to prevent the settings from being changed by other users.

Also, change the administrator password regularly.

The administrator password can be changed in the screen that appears in the following procedure:

Setting Items		Description
How to connect		Specify a connection method for the scanner.
Power Management	Startup mode	Specify a startup mode for the scanner.
	Power Save Mode	You can specify the waiting time for the scanner to automatically enter power saving mode or to be automatically turned off if it is left on for a certain period of time without being used.
	Power Button	Specify whether or not to turn on/off the scanner by pressing the [Power] button on the scanner.
Scanner Name		Set a scanner name.
Scanner Code		Specify whether or not to issue a scanner code. If the "PaperStream NX Manager" setting is enabled, a scanner code can be used when scanning with a user application on a computer or mobile device.
Network	Wi-Fi	Configure the settings for Wi-Fi.
	Wired LAN	Configure the settings for wired LAN.
	Server	Configure the settings for a server, which is to be connected to the scanner.
	Network Encryption	Specify whether to encrypt network communications.
	Check connection (Ping)	Check the communication status between the scanner and the connected computer.
Paper Source/Feeding	Pre-Pick	Enable this to shorten the scanning time when scanning continuously.
	Retry Paper Feeding	Specify the number of feeding retries when a document is not fed from the ADF paper chute (feeder).
	Multifeed Detection	Configure the settings to detect overlapped documents during a scan.
	Multifeed Detection Area	Specify an area to detect overlapped documents.
	Intelligent Multifeed Detection	Configure the setting to automatically ignore certain patterns of overlapped documents when the setting to detect overlapped documents is enabled.
	Manual Feeding	Configure the settings when manually loading and scanning one sheet at a time.
	High Altitude Mode	Enable this mode to use the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher.
Paper Protection	Paper protection	Configure the setting to detect feeding errors.
	Paper Protection (Touch Screen Settings)	Enable this option when you want some settings to be prioritized over the settings for [Paper Protection] and the Software Operation Panel.

Image	Automatic Page Size Detection	When the scanner is set to detect the paper size automatically, specify whether or not to optimize (round up/down) the fractional part of the scanned image.
	Page Edge Filler Area	Configure the settings to fill in the shadow or streaks around the edge of the scanned image.
	Dropout Color	You can exclude a color from being scanned by selecting either red, green, or blue (three primary colors).
	Offset	Specify a starting position for scanning.
	Magnification	Specify the magnification level for the feed direction.
	Image Quality Mode	To obtain an image quality that is close to the image quality for scanning with fi-6130Z, set the image quality mode.
Cleaning & Maintenance	Cleaning cycle	Specify the cleaning cycle for the scanner inside.
	Replacement of the Pick Roller	Specify the replacement cycle for the pick roller.
	Replacement of the Brake Roller	Specify the replacement cycle for the brake roller
	Maintenance cycle	Specify the maintenance and inspection cycle for the scanner that is performed by a service engineer.
USB		Specify how the USB function operates.
Admin Password		Change or disable the administrator password.
Restore Factory Defaults		Restore the scanner settings to the factory default.

ATTENTION

You cannot back up or restore the scanner settings on the touch screen.
