Exporting the Scanner Settings (Using PaperStream NX Manager)

This section explains the scanner settings that can be exported and the exporting procedure.

When using PaperStream NX Manager, export the scanner settings and upload them to the Scanner Central Admin Server so that the scanner settings can be distributed to other scanners operated with PaperStream NX Manager.

Settings That Can Be Exported

The scanner settings that are set for Settings on the touch screen can be exported.

Note that the following settings cannot be exported:

  • [Consumable counters] for [Cleaning & Maintenance]

  • [Scanner name] for [Scanner Settings]

  • The following settings in [Network] for [Scanner Settings]:

    • [IP Address] for [Wi-Fi]

    • [IP Address] for [Wired LAN]

  • The following settings in [Image] for [Scanner Settings]:

    • [Offset]

    • [Magnification]

Export the scanner settings in the following procedure:

  1. Turn on the computer and enter the following URL in the URL input field on the browser to establish a connection with a scanner.

    http or https(*1)://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(*2)/login.cgi

    *1:

    Enter "http" when [Encryption Off (HTTP)] is selected for [Network Encryption] in [Network] in [Scanner Settings]. Or, enter "https" when [Encryption On (HTTPS)] is selected.
    *2:

    Enter an IP address for the scanner.

    You can enter a scanner name (host name) when [Dynamic DNS] is enabled for [Network] in [Scanner Settings]. For details, refer to Network.

    HINT

    If a blank space or "_" is included in [Scanner name], change it to "-".
  2. Enter the administrator password for logging in.

    You can skip this step when [Enable] for [Admin Password] in [Scanner Settings] is set to off. For details about the administrator password, refer to Admin Password.

  3. Enter [Version/Name] when the window for exporting the scanner settings appears.

    Enter a version or name within 31 characters to identify the scanner settings.

    The characters you entered will be used for the name of the file to be exported.

  4. Click the [Download] button.

    The window appears asking you whether to open or save the file.

  5. Click the [Save] button.

    The scanner settings are exported as a file in the following file name.

    ScannerSetting_yyyyyyyy(*3).cab

    *3: The characters you entered for [Version/Name] in step 3 are used.

  6. Click the [Logout] button.

    You can skip this step when [Enable] for [Admin Password] in [Scanner Settings] is set to off.

ATTENTION

To properly display the windows, ensure that the browser is configured as follows:

  • Cookies are enabled

  • JavaScript is enabled

HINT

Uploading the exported file to the Scanner Central Admin Server allows you to distribute the scanner settings to other scanners.

The scanner settings can be distributed to this scanner model (operated with PaperStream NX Manager) only.
