The following paper sizes can be scanned:

ADF

Maximum size (width × length) (*1)

  • A4 (portrait) (210 × 297 mm/8.3 × 11.7 in.)

  • Legal (portrait) (8.5 × 14 in.)

  • Long page document (*2) (215.9 × 863.6 mm/8.5 × 34 in., 215.9 × 6,096 mm/8.5 × 240 in.)

Minimum size (width × length)

48 × 50 mm/1.9 × 2.0 in.

Flatbed [fi-8290/fi-8270/fi-8250/fi-8250U]

Maximum size (width × length)

215.9 × 297 mm/8.5 × 11.7 in.

If you use a ballpoint pen to pull out the side guide adjuster and then attach the ADF paper chute (feeder) to the scanner, documents with a width of up to 240 mm (9.4 in.) can be fed.

Depending on the scanner driver or the scan setting of the image scanning application, the memory may be insufficient to perform scanning.

Long page scanning supports documents with a length up to 6,096 mm (240 in.) when the resolution is set to 200 dpi or lower.

Note that the resolution must be set to the following dpi value depending on the document size.

  • A length that exceeds 863.6 mm (34 in.) but does not exceed 2,700 mm (106.3 in.)

    600 dpi or less

  • A length that exceeds 2,700 mm (106.3 in.) but does not exceed 4,064 mm (160 in.)

    400 dpi or less

  • A length that exceeds 4,064 mm (160 in.) but does not exceed 5,461 mm (215 in.)

    300 dpi or less

  • A length that exceeds 5,461 mm (215 in.) but does not exceed 6,096 mm (240 in.)

    200 dpi or less
