Conditions for Using the Booklet Carrier Sheet

Paper Size

The following paper sizes can be scanned:

  • Booklet Carrier Sheet (150 × 195 mm)

  • Passport (88 × 125 mm)

  • Passbook (87 × 140 mm)

  • Custom size

    • Width

      25.4 to 150 mm (1 to 5.9 in.)

    • Length

      25.4 to 195 mm (1 to 7.67 in.)

Document Conditions

Document Type

The document types (paper types) are as follows:

  • Booklet

Paper Weight (Thickness)

Documents with the following paper weight can be scanned:

  • 7 mm or less (including the thickness of the Booklet Carrier Sheet)

Precautions

Take note of the following:

  • When using the Booklet Carrier Sheet

    • One Booklet Carrier Sheet can be loaded at a time.

    • Do not write on, color, stain, or cut the end with a black and white pattern on the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

      Otherwise, the Booklet Carrier Sheet may not be recognized correctly.

    • As you keep using the Booklet Carrier Sheet, dirt and dust will accumulate on the surface and the inside.

      Clean it regularly because it may cause problems related to scanning or affect the scanned results.

      For details, refer to Cleaning the (Carrier) Sheet.

      If the problem still persists, replace the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

    • Do not fold or pull the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

    • Do not use a damaged Booklet Carrier Sheet.

      Doing so may damage or cause the scanner to malfunction.

    • Do not slide your finger on the edge of the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

      Doing so may cut your finger.

    • If paper jams occur frequently, feed about 50 sheets of PPC paper (recycled paper) before scanning with the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

      The PPC paper can either be blank or printed.

    • Even if the setting for a double-page spread image is enabled in the scanner driver, only the front side image is output.

  • When storing the Booklet Carrier Sheet

    • Do not leave a document inside the Booklet Carrier Sheet for a long time.

      Otherwise, the ink on the document may be transferred onto the Booklet Carrier Sheet.

    • Do not leave the Booklet Carrier Sheet in high temperature places such as under direct sunlight or near a heating apparatus for a long time.

      Also, do not use the Booklet Carrier Sheet in such environments.

      Otherwise, the Booklet Carrier Sheet may deform.

    • To avoid deformation, keep the Booklet Carrier Sheet on a flat surface without any weight on it.
