Scanner name

Set a scanner name.

Enter a scanner name within 64 characters.

The following characters can be used for a scanner name:

  • Alphanumerical characters

  • Space

    The space before or after the character string is ignored.

  • Symbols

    -_

The factory default setting is [fi-8040-<ScannerSerialNumber>].

TIP

  • The scanner serial number can be checked on the product label.

    For the product label, refer to Checking the Product Label.

  • When [Dynamic DNS] is enabled, enter a scanner name within 63 characters.

    For details about Dynamic DNS, refer to Network.

    It is also recommended that you do not use the following characters for the scanner name as they are replaced with "-" when the name is registered in the DNS servers.

    • Underscore "_"

    • Space

  • The scanner name can be checked in the screen that appears via the following procedure:

    Notification → Notification on the touch screen
