Document Thickness (Paper Weight)

Documents with the following thickness (paper weight) can be scanned:

  • When loading a document in the ADF paper chute (feeder)

    • 40 to 127 g/m2 (11 to 34 lb)

    • For A6 size or smaller, 40 to 209 g/m2 (11 to 56 lb) (*1)

    • For A8 size or smaller, 127 to 209 g/m2(34 to 56 lb) (*1)

  • When inserting a document into the return path opening

    • 20 to 413 g/m2 (5.4 to 110 lb)

    • For plastic cards, 1.4 mm or less (embossed cards can be used)

    • For booklets, 5 mm or less

When scanning a thick document, it is recommended that you insert it into the return path opening.
