Scanning Documents Folded in Half

Sliding the feed mode switch to the left to switch the feed mode to Manual Single Mode allows you to scan a document folded in half (a document of A3 or Double Letter size that is folded in half) as it is.

ATTENTION

When a document folded in half is scanned, the document may be fed skewed if the folded part is too thick.

  1. Fold the document in half so that the sides to be scanned are facing out.

    Fold it firmly and smooth out any creases.

    Otherwise, it may cause the document to skew while feeding is in progress and result in a skewed image.

  2. Load the document folded in half in the ADF paper chute (feeder).

  3. Slide the feed mode switch to the left to switch the feed mode to Manual Single Mode.

    On the top of the touch screen, [Manual Single Mode] is displayed.

  4. Scan documents with the image scanning application.

    For details, refer to the help for the image scanning application.

    ATTENTION
    • Moving the feed mode switch during a scan causes an error.

    • If the feed mode switch is in Manual Single Mode, overlapped documents cannot be detected by the ultrasonic sensor.

    HINT

    The scanner will wait for the next document to be loaded until the time specified for [Timeout seconds] in the [Manual Feeding] screen on the touch screen, even if there is no document in the ADF paper chute (feeder).
