Settings to Detect Stapled Documents [Stapled Documents Detection]

When stapled documents are fed, the stapled part may be torn off.

Stopping the scan when stapled documents are detected can prevent documents from being damaged.

  1. Start up the Software Operation Panel.
  2. From the list, select [Device Setting 2] [Stapled Documents Detection].
  3. To detect stapled documents, select [Enable].

The factory default setting is [Enable].

When [Enable] is selected, specify the following items:

    Sensitivity

    Normal

Stapled documents will be detected at the optimum sensitivity level.

This is the factory default setting.

    High

Increases the sensitivity level for detecting stapled documents.

    ATTENTION
    • Note that while the stapled document detection function is used to prevent damage to documents, using it does not guarantee that all documents will be protected.

    • Remove all paper clips and staples from documents before loading them onto the scanner.

    HINT
    • When Manual Single Mode is used, [Stapled Documents Detection] is disabled.

    • This setting can also be configured in the scanner driver or on the operator panel.

Note that priority is given to the scanner driver setting.
