Settings to Prevent Vertical Streaks (Moire) Appearing in Images [Moire Reduction (Advanced)]

Adjusts the image quality when scanning documents (such as magazines or photographs) to prevent vertical streaks (moire) appearing.

  1. Start up the Software Operation Panel.
  2. From the list, select [Device Setting 2] [Moire Reduction (Advanced)].
  3. Select [Enable] to prevent vertical streaks (moire) appearing in images.

The factory default setting is [Disable].

When [Enable] is selected, specify the following items:

    Reduction Mode

    Prioritize speed

    Suppresses vertical streaks (moire).

The scanning speed may slow down.

This is the factory default setting.

    Prioritize image quality

This option is more effective for suppressing vertical streaks (moire) than [Prioritize speed].

However, the scanning speed will slow down.

    ATTENTION

When scanning long page documents while [Moire Reduction (Advanced)] is enabled, the scanner may fail to completely scan documents up to the maximum length due to the resolution settings in the scanner driver.

For details about supported document lengths, refer to the help for the scanner driver.

    HINT

This setting can also be configured in the scanner driver or on the operator panel.

Note that priority is given to the scanner driver setting.
